Weekend Inspiration: The Unhung Hero

I am having quite an easy summer work wise and I should be appreciating it considering how crazy my schedule has been these past two years or so. If I may complain though the heat here in Manila has been sucking all the energy out of me. People have literally tried and succeeded frying an egg under the sun.

But hey, a weekend is a weekend and here we are!

Basically I just had to meet two clients today and I could call it a week. H and I planned to watch a cheesy movie but after lining up for thirty minutes, (No we were not going to watch The Avengers but had to fall in line with the rest of the population who were watching.) whoever manages the cinema at the Power Plant Mall decided to cancel the 2pm screening (of our cheesy movie) and squeeze another screening of The Avengers. Boohoo!

So with our heads bowed down, H and I decided to run errands then head home.

We got home to a toaster oven of an abode, two sweaty kids, a messy room and a newly bathed Chow-chow. After ordering pizza, I told H I am sleeping early and turning the air-conditioning on maximum! Wait! Messy room! I did a little cleaning, clearing and screaming before anything else. AAAAhaaaah finally I could settle down, checked my email and found a newsletter from Goop, Gwyneth Paltrow's blog. As I was browsing, I saw a post entitled Decorating With Contemporary Art, a lovely post and this pic caught my eye.

I like how the art work is simply propped against the wall above the night table. I won a painting by my friend and artist Toots Magsino in an auction recently and have been so excited about it that I could not decide where to hang it  but now I believe it has found its proper home. =-)

I know styling could be better...hehe!

NOW, let's have that weekend....even without the cheesy movie....Happy Weekend!!!!

     No big plans this weekend?
Make it special still with a little home tweaking project like this. I am sure you can find something. =-)
