We arrived in Paris four hours later than our scheduled time. We traveled down from Amsterdam by a private bus that day, met a minor road accident and someone did not tell us it takes longer than 3 hours.... (what the heck?) We were all tired, hungry and clueless about the city we were now in. Even the view from one of the bedroom balconies was met by blank, emotionless stares as if to say 'Okay, I'll look at it again tomorrow."
So off to bed we all went.....
This was bedroom 1, the master bedroom. My sister's family stayed here....
It has its own bath, yes, bath because the only toilet in the apartment was a common one in the living room. Yep, just one....enough said....
Bedroom 2 where mom and I slept. Upper bunk was where Blue slept. Yellow camped out with her daddy and cousin in the living room. I felt like I was in one of my high school retreats where my mom and I talked until she SNORED! Honked is a more apt word I think.....Good thing I was really tired!
So we slept and ignored this.....
ZzzzZZzzz! |
We had planned a breath out day the next day after the long bus ride the previous day. The day with H doing the laundry with much grudging. How come he never complains when we are in the States? All of a sudden he is this cranky psuedo Parisian laundry man! Ignore!!!
Can you feel the very relaxed apartment atmosphere? haha!
At least someone got to go for a dive....and chill...
It's DORO!!!
I loved the kitchen though...IKEA!!! Mom was in her best element after having gone to the supermarket which was just a meter from the apartment building.....She was determined to make adobo....Yep, again!
Doro: Something is not smelling good....
Mom, come on let's explore!
We were actually in Marais, the artsy. hip neighborhood in Paris. Though we were all having withdrawals from being so spoiled on a cruise; the food, the royal treatment...One day is too precious to waste....
Let's go! Paris is calling!
These are some things to see around our neighborhood...Like I said no big plans, just breathing out.....
Mommy, Carrefour!!!
We were overwhelmed with all the Nutella laced yummies! haha!
Le Musée des Arts et MétiersKids happy to be stepping on grass after eleven days at sea....Heaven for me!!! |
.....an all too pretty flower shop.....were my faves!
.... and two lost Filipinos....
You can check out this Paris apartment here!
Overall, we had a pleasant stay but the website reads that it can fit 8 people. I believe to just say 6 is safer and more comfortable. Bunk beds are no longer fun especially for grown-ups. Nevertheless, I am convinced that to stay in apartments like this one is the way to go in Paris. We saved major bucks and saved us three nights from our supposed accommodation the Grande Du Horror! ....
Thanks, Meg and Jill for the lead!
Au revoir!!!
